The Resilience Reset

  • Great Keppel Island, Qld Australia (map)

What Our Package Includes

  • 4 Nights & 5 days accomodation in our beautiful Island round house. The self sufficient eco home is nestled right on the waters edge to one of many of The Keppel’s most magical beaches.

  • 5 meals per day. Our food is all tailored to the theme of this retreat which is to heal from the inside out. Tahnee is our modern day medicine woman and with her cooking comes the medicinal power that it holds. The menu is completely vegetarian with the option for gluten free and vegan with the exception of our catch and cook evening.

  • Catch & Cook night - This is an intimate cooking lesson which teaches you the sustainable value and soul of cooking what you catch. Ocean to plate is a very big part of our lifestyle at Girls Who Rome & it gives us much pleasure to pass that skill onto our guests. This is an interactive lesson where you get to be involved. Of course, then we feast.

  • PADI certified “Basic free diver & confidence “ course/ certification. Walk in being afraid, face your fears through some incredible coaching and come out the other side with the knowledge and skills to take you places you never thought you would go.

  • Daily fun dives/ snorkel locations, marine life encounters, hiking & much more.

  • Daily somatic movement, right in the front yard of our house. You don’t need to go far to stretch it all out, open your heart & hips and let the power of Tahnee’s reiki unlock and crack open your deepest wounds, commencing the healing process you came here for.

  • Boat day - A full day on a boat, taking us around to other Islands in the area, letting us go by feel, catching fish, learning how to fillet, learn about fish species, the ways of the ocean, rig up a fishing line. The world is our Oyster on this day. It is ALWAYS one of the biggest adventures we get to take you on. It never disappoints.

  • “Resilience Reset” - This is deep work. Sit on our lounge with blankets, in your comfy PJ’s, surrounded by your new sisters & hear the stories from both Tahnee & Jess. Stories of gut wrenching heartache, of pure resilience, of strength. This is the night you feel it all. Our traumas are released.

FAQ’s

Q: If I can’t afford to pay upfront, can I pay it off and still attend?

A: Yes! Absolutely. We have many payment options to suit all people and all budgets. We require a $500 deposit upfront and the rest can be put on the payment plan.

Q: If I use the payment plan system, will I be paying interest?

A: No. Our plans are interest free. You may receive a very small fee per transaction, and if your payment bounces, you will receive a dishonour fee charged back to you but our plan itself does not charge interest.

Q: Can I attend if I have never even snorkelled before?

A: Yes! This retreat is designed around the absolute beginner free-diver. We would ask that you can at a bare minimum swim in the ocean, however there is no requirement to know how to snorkel or free dive. That’s what you have us for. We will teach you everything you need to know.

Q; Is the certificate I receive recognised?

A: It sure is. You will be registered with PADI Australia, your beginner certification will be logged upon completion & this will allow you to carry on to levels above if you wish to continue your training.

Q: Will I see marine life?

A: Of course! Great Keppel Island is full of beautiful marine life. From stunning fish species, to turtles, dolphins, whales ( when in season) reef sharks, plus more.

Q: Are there sharks?

A: The Keppel Islands is actually one of the places we hardly ever see sharks. Of course we know they are there, however we are yet to see more than 1 reef shark in the 3 years we have been taking groups there. The reef sharks are very placid and you will learn all about their behaviour prior to entering the water so you will know what to do when you see one.

Q: I am vegan and gluten free, can you cater for my dietry needs?

A: We sure can. All our guests are asked for dietary requirements upon securing their place on retreat. Our menu is then designed based on those requirements so that everyone is enjoying nourishing foods each day.

Q: Is there any spear fishing allowed?

A: Due to our insurance levels, we are not able to allow you to bring your spear gun :-( sad because we LOVE spear fishing and encourage this sustainable approach when catching and cooking meals. ( Which we do on this retreat) but we do let you come along and learn from watching and throwing in a line off the boat to catch our dinner for the night.

Q:What if I don't know anyone going? Will my trip suck?

A: OMG no! leading up to the departure date, for months in advance we add you into our little group chat with all the guests as they book so that you can stay updated on any changes and of course, get to know each other before you meet in person. As soon as you meet in the flesh, it is like you have been friends for ever. Everyone who comes along, immediately bonds, It’s so nice to watch unfold.

Q: Is my deposit refundable if I changed my mind?

A: No, unfortunately we are not able to refund deposits or payments for retreats. However, you can transfer them to another retreat of your choice. We will hold your payments and apply them accordingly should you wish to join another retreat. We give you 2 years to transfer them until they become void.

Q: Is their alcohol included?

A: In the past we have done this, however we found that not a lot of people actually take part, so we have changed it to BYO alcohol if you wish to have any on the duration of the retreat. We are definitely not about wasting. We can only take limited supplies from the mainland - There is a bar just a 2 minute walk from the house as well which a few people venture up to anyways to hang out on their free time.

Q: If I drive, is there parking available?

A: Yes, the Roslyn Bay Marina has free car parking ( Not covered). We have always left our car here no worries and have had no issues what so ever.

Q: Is the itinerary set?

A: Our itinerary to the right of here, is a general outline of how we run the getaway, however is subject to be amended around the weather.
